The LocalRES Consortium gathered in Åland this 28 and 29 of May for its 7th project meeting to discuss challenges, lessons learnt and next steps.
This occasion marked the official inclusion of Revolt and Grupo Astea into the consortium as well as the adoption of the Osimo pilot. Welcome!
Benjamin Horvilleur and Tom Boucher from Artelys gave us a first glance at the two pronged planning tool using our demo site of Ispaster.
Used to much larger models, the biggest challenge for Artelys was to accommodate a small community. All 50 constructions connected to Ekogella, Ispaster’s energy community, have been rendered individually, factoring heat and electricity demand – allowing the user to make a long term cost/benefit analysis of different generation methods.
The tool has two interfaces, one designed for experts with very granular results, and another, more ergonomic and relevant to the ordinary citizen, developed by CARTIF.
This meeting was also a good opportunity to hear about policy roadblocks and the importance of citizen acceptance.
We look forward to convene once more, this time in Ispaster!
